The Chains have been Broken

by Timothy   Feb 26, 2009

My heart was stripped, completely bare,
There was no hope of recovery, it could not be repaired;
You had me eating, right out of the palm of your hand,
Castrating and dehumanizing me, to some shadow of a man.

Too many years have passed, to let my soul falter,
Because you corrupted and coerced, and our lives you adultered;
Rise up, I shall, from my very own ashes,
The Firebird lives in me, surviving all the cuts and scratches.

I will be vindicated, without a merciful thought,
Because the reaping of the whirlwind is what you sought;
The devastated will devastate, without a word spoken,
Retribution commences, the chains have been broken!
