Crying

When did showing tears
make us strong or weak?
today I cried
does that make me weak?

I don't think so
I think it makes me sad
and are you that ashamed to show sadness
about loosing someone you loved?

if you cried in the middle of a croweded place
would you be ashamed if someone noticed?
if you were surrounded by family
everyone crying yet trying to comfort,

would you be able to let down your guard
and cry with us?
there is no need to be strong
no not today

we cannot escape the feeling of loss
because we've felt it
we cannot escape today
because it's here

and so we cry
we cling to memories
and pray for better days
and try to bring them back
