Desire

by David ODonnell   Feb 26, 2009

She cries her thoughts infront of me
I feel her pain but disagree
Why she should carry on this way
Through so much hurt and more dismay

I give her dreams of solid gold
And wish my heart for her to hold
She sleeps beside him in such fright
A tear I shed alone tonight

On days of warmth I feel the strain
An empty heart with no one to blame
The open hand which waits to close
Depressive thoughts that grows and grows

I see her smile and clench my fist
Im not that man shes going to kiss
I hold my breath and calm my mind
And watch her leave as I fall behind

Shes not the one Im meant to keep
So I'll stand alone and then I'll weep
And think about what it would be
With her, her hand thats holds to me
