It Started With a Thought

by Lilly Tagloff   Mar 1, 2009

The music was fading
The sun was sinking from the sky
And I was waiting,
Waiting to die

The pain was too much
It overwhelmed my soul
I just couldn't take
How I was no longer whole

The thought raced through my mind
I just could not bear it
It went on too long
For me to control it

The fear subsided
I did not know what would come next
I could only stand there
And wait for a second guess

The thought was suddenly alive
The color red died my arm
All I could think
Was of terrible harm

The music was silent
The sun left the sky
I no longer have to wait,
Wait to die.
