Scars singing regret

by Nil   Mar 9, 2009

They whisper to me quietly
speaking tales of empathy
some of sympathy
some of the restless dead
Sometimes restlessly sometimes reserved
They continue singing and screaming
rancid lullabies with truth laced into every word
every verse, phrase every turn of plot
Blending everything together melodically
diabolically catching your eye
and holding it without remorse
by your throat, breathlessly
you wait for release
A slip of the wrist
A sip of water swirling pills
Another glass of liquid courage
To fortify your elaboration of lies
what's another verse
In a book
no one will ever read?
Like the scars on my flesh
Memories cooing happily
when I just want to forget

I love this. The flow was amazing. The style was simple. The diction blew my mind. I can't complain. I love how you expressed your emotions so clearly. Very nice work. Shanik
