Where The Widow Weeps

by xToBeWithYoux   Mar 10, 2009

The silence creeps like mist,
desperation follows its cursed path.
Ancient halls witness the mourning
with tired, immortal eyes.

Laid to rest in eternal wood,
dry eyes are a speciality.
The love for the dead is stifling,
the flames burn on, lacking compassion.

I liked this...until the last line.
It sort of...threw off the desperate clinging feeling.
In a way, Em, this is sort of creepy. I like it. But, maybe you could replace the last line with
The flames burn on, lacking compassion
it's just a little wordy for the rest.
    Good job though, 5/5
