Death

Death, sweet death.
It travels through the endless tunnels of my mind.
Killing me.
I'm dying, slowly, slowly.
The life I lived falling behind into the past.
My friends.
My family.
My one true love.
I bid thee farewell as I travel into the abyss.
Falling, slowly, slowly.
Falling through this mortal realm.
Into that which is unknown.
I accept my fate.
As the time draws near that I say goodbye to sunlight forever.
Hell.
That is where I am headed.
These actions, these sins.
They have damned me to the darkest regions of the devil's lair.
No hope, no faith, no return.
Never again to see my love.
To hear her voice.
To feel the brush of her lips on mine.
To tell her I love her.
I am broken.
The end comes closer.
Every second of every day.
I cry.
The tears slide down my cheeks as I lay in my bed.
Dying, falling, the time is now.
I'm sorry for my sins.
My apology is not heard.
I'm sorry for what I've done.
I wish I could change what has happened.
Now as I slip away from mortal cares I see her.
I love you I whisper.
And as the breath leaves my body I hear.
"I will see you in heaven."
