The Bus

by Kelvin Masi   Mar 16, 2009

We always take a bus for granted.
We see them everywhere, everyday.
They have been around for ages,
Carrying the everyday people.

We never think of a bus as important;
It carries normal, common people:
Mrs. Smith and old Mr. Masi,
Young Yapikachi Msiska and little Tom Cooke,
Fat Mr. Richard and skinny Miss Banda,
Pretty little Delphine and handsome George,
Poor Fletcher Moyo and wealthy Mphatso Mlenga.

We never think of a bus as a showcase of life.
The models are the everyday people.
Many of them, one never sees again.
Although these people are not famous,
They are the people that make the world revolve.
The everyday people, that everyone sees,
But no one knows.
