Down in the wilderness

by Rowena Smith   Mar 21, 2009

Down, down through the wilderness
Where the animals do roam
A beauty not seen
By many who do not dream
That such beauty exists

Down, down through the wilderness
Where the animals do roam
Not a whisper of human invasion is found
Where the beauty is not marred
By the growth of our towns, our cities

Down, down through the wilderness
Where the animals do roam
The sound of nature
So peaceful, stirs the air
With just a murmur

Down, down through the wilderness
Where the animals do roam
The peaceful glade
Where young ones may play in peace
And many a kind of animal may eat

Down, down, through the wilderness
Where the animals do roam
Not a whisper of human is found
Where the beauty is not marred
Left in peace, so serene

Down, down through the wilderness
Where the animals do roam
The air is clean and fresh
Safe from the poison
Produced by our factories, our machines

Down, down through the wilderness
Where the animals do roam
A beauty not seen
By many who do not dream
That such beauty exists

Down, down through the wilderness
Where the animals do roam
The sound of nature
So peaceful stirs the air
With just a murmur
