A poem for Teggy that rhymes

by The Mr Simon   Mar 21, 2009

Tonight the evening feels empty
Though to me it is obvious why
Work is over, I'm free, that's nifty
But the night still needs you and I

I just cannot wait for tomorrow
The day can't come soon enough
Each line for you is new, no borrow
And sometimes that can be tough!

After all who have turned me down
Expectations have dwindled few
Someone who cares and loves a clown
And a friend to get me through

Right from the start, you meet all three
Smiles exchanged with every glance
'Never thought there was one for me
How blessed I am with such a chance

Oh how wrong I was to expect so little
You've blown my world to pieces
So much joy that my life you whittle
With a love that never ceases.

Your laughter is like a kindle
To hear, it warms the very soul
Thoughts of doubt now dwindle
All fears now swallowed whole

You are so patient, you are so kind
Your touch so tender, so full of grace
You bring me peace to my troubled mind
'Oh how much joy just to see your face

Your beauty extends forever
How could I approach a can'vus?
For even in seven lifetimes, I never
could have the skill to do you just'ice

A song you sing, is a lullaby
tears and peace spill from within
Please don't stop I silently cry
Continue, as you did begin

* For Tegan, the love of my life and I cherish every moment and everything that we share together.
