Lowry Would?

by Mr. Darcy   Mar 22, 2009

Condensation mists and covers the cold window pane.
With one outstretched and child inspired forefinger
A line is drawn, disturbing the fragile wet film.
Around in a slow upward arc, around and down;
then curving up to complete one continuous line.
Pulling away in a quite a deliberate and steady motion,
Only to penetrate the film twice more in quick succession:
Jab, jab - then a small circle beneath..

..Smile? Why of course, Lowry would!

Wouldn't he? :O)

I think this piece lets us see the child in everyone :) I'm sure there are many readers that still do this....LOL

    Great job!

Forgot to mention that I suppose the image you are talking about is also sideways at the end of your poem. Is that correct? Also assuming Lowry is the child. How lovely of a write. I do agree with Ingrid above that it should be pane not pain. Other than that minor thing. It's wonderful.

Oh isn't it just one of those things when a child is writing in the condensation on the window. I love how you expressed they put a smiley face on the window. Just the other day I could see on my truck window the pollen covered prints where her nose lips and chin were pressed to the glass. They weren't visible until the pollen had settled on them and I thought they were priceless. what a very unique write you have here and very cute. My children can never resist the drawing in the mist. I absolutely love this poem. Thanks for the share.

    HA HA HA!

I don't understand what this is about!
Please pm me the meaning, it must be something typically British, or me being dense ( I think the latter:) )

Isn't it window pane, instead of pain?

Excellent. Smile indeed. I don't think I have ever seen an adult or child that could resist the mist on a window or mirror. I know I can't. 5/5
