Country Song

by Deana   Mar 23, 2009

Stars at twilight, growing dim
Once they shined so bright
Clouds above now passing through
My lonely country sky

Scent of roses fill the air
Lilacs soft perfume
Silent walks remembering
Dreams once made with you

guitar strums a heartfelt tune
Drifting on the wind
Melody of spoken words
Return to haunt again

Birds still sing refrain of love
crickets play along
Music of a dreamers world
A sweet sad country song.

    Great job, Deana!!!
As I read this it was like the world just melted away and the melody just carried me off.
    Great imagery and impeccable flow.
    Keep it up!
