Rhymes

by StandStill   Mar 27, 2009

The window's open so I can feel the stars
and I wonder if you see them-
do you see them where you are?
Or are you crashing beneath a wave
of a double shot of dreams,
crushed beneath the sunrise of
pills and better things.
I think I'll get out there someday,
but someday you'll be gone.
I'm scared you'll be ridin' towards the sunset
while I'm smashing into dawn.
And I wonder about fairy dust,
and sleep beneath your wings.
Sometimes I wonder if you wonder
about those better things.
It takes a double shot of whiskey
to drown the pain of hope,
but it only takes on f_u-cking lie
to string you up with rope.
I think I'll get there someday,
and I think that you'll be gone.
'Cause the stars are singin' your name
so I know I'm thinkin' wrong.

I actually enjoyed reading this. There are a couple of rough spots, but you also had some great lines and imagery, I don't think it is worthy of "worst poem ever"

^I love this part, absolutely beautiful part, I love the image and feeling you provoke here. Don't be so hard on yourself, it was enjoyable.
