Happily Ever After

by shelby   Mar 27, 2009

With a poison apple
and snow white skin,
I searched my heart
for the queen within.

Had searched mens hearts-
dwarf sized at most,
they just couldn't cut it,
they didn't come close.

Some called me Belle,
they asked me to dance,
and share just one night
of silly romance.

But i was not beauty,
just plain average- since,
I found beast after beast
but never my prince.

But if Romeo got Juliet
then i could find love too.
Lois Lane got Superman,
but my hero was who?

I wanted love like fairy tales,
to be somebody's girl.
To find my knight in armor,
to be somebody's world.

I felt so stuck, like in a box,
reaching for a hand.
Trying to be Barbie.
Waiting for my Ken.

A love like June and Johnny,
to sing each others praise.
We'd walk the line forever,
the world would be amazed.

And then when i quit looking,
my soldier came in view.
Like John to Pocahontas,
we saved each other too.

And then i knew I'd seen you,
it was once upon a dream.
And you loved me all at once,
the way i knew it'd be.

Because Romeo got Juliet,
and now i have love too.
Lois Lane got Superman,
but my hero is you.

I have a love like fairy tales,
I am somebody's girl.
I found my knight in armor,
now I'm somebody's world.

And I kissed you with a passion
that could maybe start a fire,
I know you are my soul mate,
my only one desire.

As Edward did with Bella,
I hope someday to be your wife,
to spend eternity together...
you are more than my own life.

So now I'll start a story,
a fairytale come true.
It shall have a happy ending.
I shall call it "me and you".

Forever and ever, babe.
Your lover, and your friend.
And i will give you everything,
until we reach "The End".
