Perfect Imperfections

by shelby   Dec 30, 2007

Nobody is perfect.
At least that's what they say.
But in you, I see perfection,
each and every day.

You have your little faults.
Some that bug me half to death.
But your imperfections are perfect.
You take away my breath.

It's when your bangs are always fuzzy
And your part is never right.
It's how I always cry about
Our stupid little fights.

It's the way you play guitar
And how you always move your lips.
It's the way you say you love
My so imperfect hips.

Or how when somethings really funny
And you belt out that big laugh.
Or if we'd ever share a cookie,
You'd take the bigger half.

And it's the way you make your sad face
When you don't get your way.
And when I see those puppy eyes,
I'll do anything you say.

It's how every weekend,
I know exactly what you'll do.
You'll tell me that I'm perfect
Because you've had a drink or two.

It's the little things that make you mad
Like bad drivers, or video games.
And the way you call me "girlfriend"
Instead of saying just my name.

It's how you slur your words
And the stupid songs you sing.
Or that I know just how much money
You spent to get my ring.

And it's the size of your huge heart
And how your ego's just as big.
Or the times you make me laugh so hard
I snort just like a pig.

It's how I hold your hand in public
Although you hate those PDA's.
But sometimes... if I'm good...
You'll let me do it anyways.

And so, you're definitely not perfect
But it all just adds that touch.
I love all your perfections,
But love your flaws, Babe, just as much.
