Advice Forgotten

by SuperJenius   Mar 30, 2009

He once told me "Those who have suffered bear the mark of greatness."
Confused, I nodded. He smiled.
He thought I did comprehend.
Did he mean to say, that my tears shall yield what I have coveted most?
Should I become the miser? Then gain with my new identity artistic greatness?
Shall tomorrow be the day when I decide to step from that tower? Will I then survive and produce from my failure a beautiful piece of art?

Today, I responded to his declaration. Said "I understand what you told me last November."
He frowned. "What did I tell you?"
Did he really not remember? Was he toying with my mind? How could he not remember the day he changed my life?
