Spring comes in the form of little

by sibyllene   Mar 31, 2009

Spring comes in the form of little
ugly pretty things

today I saw
a little foal,
knobby-kneed with a mohawk
warm cinnamon brown with a furry winter coat,
prancing around with powerful kicks
showing off and full of his own
rowdy energy

then there's
the little girl
with a pile of acorns
planting one
mashing up another
to see the little white worms
wriggling squeamishly inside

everything surrounded by
the little rivulets of
dirty wasted snow, sipping and
pooling into muddy puddles
ringed with cracked and dingy
ice, and I love
dearly every awkward
moment

A beautiful translation of musings, of not purely watching but seeing. To take beauty out of all we see, a lovely attribute.
So simple but so well related...who now could not see the little girl and newborn foal.

Lip service to the Gods, amazing choice of verse, the tyrany of nature life in decay, Lovely.

This reminds me of Edward Scissorhands. Every little thing, so strange...awkward, like you say, but beautiful in a way that you could only understand if you saw it. Like the character of Edward Scissorhands.
