The Extra Mile Man

by Ares   Mar 31, 2009

I woke up from this dream I had;
I was guy with a life.
and then I realized that the woman next to me,
was in fact not my wife.

Seemingly, I'm doing alright.
Seemingly, I'm doing fine.
I'm free like a bird tonight,
and I'm on my way to a girl.

Don't you worry now.
don't you wonder how.

Just let the good life fill you up,
and let it make you smile.
Just let sun cheer you up,
and let us walk the extra mile.

I'm free like a bird tonight,
I'm the king of the world.
I'm free like a bird tonight,
and I'm on my way to my girl.

Don't you worry now.
Don't you wonder how.

I was expecting something totally different from reading the title of this poem. Was somewhat disappointed, but I still enjoyed reading this piece. You did state some truths that I could relate to, the guy next to me is not my husband, although it's wrong, I know that in my mind, we are, I am free.
