What is Life?

by Dark Storm   Apr 3, 2009

Huh, thought I'd never be one to write poetry. *shrug* I go with my urges, and my current urge it to write a poem. Hope you all enjoy. Oh, and if you feel inclined to do so, leave a comment. Let me know how i did. this is my first poem.

Life
What is life, exactly?
Is it measured in the life you live
or in life after death?

I've been around for much longer than most
But not by most people's definitions
Not by body, but by spirit

People fear death
for they believe it is the end
If only they would realize
it is only the beginning

After one leaves the body, they have much more freedom
Free to move, free to do as you like
Sure, its a bit scary at first
but its much more fun when you're a spirit

No worries about the burden of the flesh
No cuts, no bruses, no burns
No hurt
Not to mention the ability to move as you please
No weighty body to hold you down

There are three places you can end up
Hell
Heaven
and the Astral, or to the Christians, "pergatory"

There are much more relms than the three
but normal humans cannot access them
Certain requirements are nessicary

The other relms, to let you know
are as follows:
The demon relm
The light relm
The Elysian Fields
and many more I havent visited

The astral is the relm where the spirits not "good" enough to go to heaven
I ended up there
People pray for those who go to "purgatory"
But I never see why

The Astral Relm is a relm of diversity
Many different places make up its grounds
Beautiful forests
Breath-taking mountains
Peaceful lakes
serene fields
totally untouched by human hands
Not tained by the human industry of factories or buildings

Then there are the cities
much like those here on earth
Some tall and beautiful
some dingy and ugly

Now, as for heaven, i cant describe that to you
Yes, I've been there
The good Lord offered me a spot in Heaven
But I knew those of the physical and astral needed me.
He made me promise to never tell anyone of heavens looks
for it is against His law to tell of its glory

Now as for Hell
I've only seen it once
and I'll tell you, thats all i needed
All of your fears and terrors
Nightmares and spooks
All of them present in this horrid relm

-----------------------------------------------
I will finish this when I get home. *shrug* not much of a poem, i suppose.
