Boats Do Crash

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Apr 14, 2009

Thoughts leave ripples in my head
Like a boat from shore to shore
I know exactly what I've found
But not what I was looking for

Footsteps trail through sunshine
Dew on the laces of my shoes
When you owe something to begin with
There is not much left to loose

Rain slides down the window's glass
Leaving slug trails from behind
Close the rusty iron cage
Without telling me my crime

If nobody hears a falling tree
Does it still splinter, does it still break?
I gave you everything I had
You still found something to take

Thoughts swim around inside my head
Like a boat from shore to shore
Boats crash and burn to the bottom
"I don't need you anymore."

*old poem that just got put up

This was a really good poem. I liked how you used a boat to go with your emotions. Good job. Austin

This was really good. i loved it. the flow was good and the way you took the first stanza and reused it at the end with some changes was great :)
