One hell of a hero

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Apr 15, 2009

Look now, i've worried enough.
And i've always acted tough and rough.
But now, it's time to take care of me.
Because you won't live for eternity.

If i'm going to worry about you all the time.
Rather than letting go and feeling sublime.
I would just be another you.
And you're too bad to be true.

Thank God you're there.
To teach me what i shouldn't be.
And although i've suffered much with you.
One day i'll break free.

But, in the end, i thank you the most.
And i raise to you a toast.
Because you made me one hell of a hero.
A hero of whom i can boast.

In the words of Mariah Carey "And then a hero comes along With the strength to carry on And you cast your fears aside And you know you can survive So when you feel like hope is gone Look inside you and be strong And you'll finally see the truth That a hero lies in you." :) 5/5, Em

I really enjoyed this, tho i could not determine who this person was to you, i could feel a combination of resentment and a great sence of graditude to this person. This person has made you suffer, but through this suffering you have become stronger and not like the person. It really made me think of my father in my life. I never want to be him, but if not for him, then i would never know how not to treat my wife. My father treated my mother like crap, has well has us children. great poem, really touched home for me.
