When You Held My Hand

I love the feeling of your gentle touch,
The way your hand searches for mine.
I've never felt anything such,
It was like the world stopped, even time.

I couldn't let go,
Because your warmth and comfort secured me.
You made me feel aglow,
Like nothing will ever happen as you stroked my hand gently.

You held my hand for the entire ride,
It felt so perfect and right
To have you there right by my side.
The darkness of the night shined so bright.

You placed our hands on top of your heart
And whispered about how much you love me.
You kissed my hand slowly and promised we'd never part.
It was so romantic and tender; happier I just could not be.

I didn't want the moment to ever end,
But when it did, you kissed my hand again.

    I love the gentle feel you bring to this poem. You both sound so adorable together. I know this is an older poem so i am of course unsure if you two are together still.

    The first stanza is so simple yet it says so many things. I love the gentle wording you say. As it brings to life the love you have for each other. Hand holding is such a sweet thing that I love so much. It really does feel like time has stopped. You are in your own world when your heart wants you to be! You always feel secure when this person loves you. You feel your heart and smile shine. All your pain will go away and nothing will be left besides happiness.

    You said it best when it said the night shines so bright.I feel like you are two little kids falling in love for the first time. I love the feeling of wonder and nervous butterflies in your stomach. I think it happens everytime you fall in love.

    You bring such a great feeling in the fourth stanza. The heart is such a magical thing and love cannot be replaced. I love the whisper as it is only between you two. It feels more sensual that way. It is a tender feeling to feel loved no matter who it is. Because love really does make the heart stronger and it will break down your walls. The moment never feels like it will end at all. Thats what makes it so special. I love the rhyming here though. It is simple yet so good. 5/5
