My Shoe Box

by PinkyPrincess   Apr 18, 2009

Today I gave you up,
Put you far away.
Because I don't want this endless pain to stay.
I gathered up everything I had
That reminded me of you.
There is so much
But I can only fit a few.
I can't put the feeling of your gentle touch
Because it's no longer there.
I can't put your beautiful, dangerous eyes
Because lately it's been disguised.
Your sweet voice, from your cherry lips
That I also cannot put.
For it has vanished into spit.
I cannot put the words you said
Because now they are dead.
But I will still put every moment that can fit
Even though altogether it's just a bit.
I put your red and white cap
That once belonged to you.
I put the pictures I have of you,
I put the pictures of me and you.
I put the skirt you loved to see me wear,
I miss how much you used to care.
I put the letter I wrote for you
That still remains unread.
I never got a chance to give it to you,
Now you'll never know how much I love you.
I stored our life memories in a shoe box,
So they could fade away.
But this shoe box represents my heart
Where forever you will stay.

    OMG !! Sara
How could I have not read this before?
Definitely on my fav list right now. Its just so hard to put a life time of memories and reminders in such a small shoe box. I mean there isnt anything big enough to hold the emotions you felt, or all the tiny things that meant something to you two.

This put tears to my eyes, and yes it did indeed gave me the same feelings to the ones I had when I wrote my poem.

    Loved it hon ;)
