I Am From...Everywhere

by To Many Personalities To Be Tame   Apr 24, 2009

I am from the big open fields of Kentucky, the sandy beaches where Florida shines, and the snowy hills of Fulda where my grandmother resides

I am from Oscars b-o-l-o-g-n-a, what is really in that meat?

I am from the blond haired, blue eyes children of imagine. With the Star of David pinned to their chests.

I am from the towels of fresh Downey wrapped around me as I am lifted out of the sink

I am from the Chinatown bags, full to the brim with bright colors, my friend holding a purple satchel his face equipped with humongous yellow glasses

I am from the red, white, and blue buttons. Ready to change, while Obama holds up his hands.

I am from the hurtful words of "Your retarded." And hopeful words of "But I love you." Spoken in the same tone.

I am from the sweet smell of bread emanating from the Turkish baker, and the aroma of the liverwurst spread upon it.

I am from the wailing of the ambulance, rushing people to the sides of the road...even thought its destination is miles away.

I am from the serene water before Alcatraz's shores, and the cluttered shops and neon lights of Japan Town.

I am from the broken bones of nothing...

Being a klutz with the knowledge to know how to fall.
