The Mountains Between Us

by To Many Personalities To Be Tame   Apr 24, 2009

The waves rush up to greet the forlorn shore
While mountains that talk of happy dreams
Keep the sun for themselves
But we have the air
We have the sun, the water, the ground
All for split seconds at a time
Sharing what we and they have to offer

We glide with wings tucked through the winter
And dip to enjoy the monsoons of summer
Only to fly to the north for the lush Eden of spring
To lay our eggs in the bright colored trees of the fall
We brace ourselves for the terror, the strife
Only to figure out that we gave birth to new life

The waves rush up to greet the crowded shore
While mountains talk of lullabies
