In A Child's Eyes

by Elliott Lica   Apr 25, 2009

She is the one who sacrificed it all,
Her youth, her beauty, her flesh, her blood, and her life,
On that day you were conceived, The life she sought meant nothing,
Something great was growing within her, A new beginning would soon be,
With you she shared everything, her food and health, even her thoughts and dreams,
She would plan your life, her fantasies of course, her baby would be the best,
As her belly grew, her anxiousness did too, her child would best all the rest,
Nine months pass and it is finally time, now she will meat what she cherished most,
For you she bares more pain than any man could dream to stand,
Finally you are in her arms, she looks at you so beautiful, so precious,
Her little prince/princess...
Her once beautiful complexion now ruined, she doesn't care
Her life becomes you, you are her purpose now...
No one will ever love you so, like the one who brought you here,
She places you to her breast, anything she can give you she will, even more,
Now for many years she will care for you through better or worse,
And for all of this, she expects not a single thing,
In your young eyes, she is stronger than steel, faster than light, sometimes scary when she is worried,
But too she is sweeter than candy, and softer than silk, and as gentle as a fluffy cloud,
Her life is you, but one thing she may not know,
A mother is god in the eyes of her child...
