And recall a million memories.

We can pretend we don't care,
When the truth is, it's eating us alive.

We can hold onto all the hopeless promises,
And never know the truth behind a lie.

We can regret the wrong words said,
Or hate ourselves for the things never mentioned.

We can bury the hurt in a shoe box,
Or show what we thought we felt.

You can hold my hearts in your hands,
But with every beat break it even more.

We can hide from goodbye's,
Knowing it's only hurting to hold on.

We can hide the tears behind a smile,
Hoping no one sees the hurt it's hiding.

We can love each other until the end of time,
Or save ourselves the hurt by letting go now.

We can destroy everything we built up,
And regret ever falling in love.
