Understand that

by xxKelsey   May 6, 2009

Understand that
in the corner of my eye there's a lighthouse
and when it storms, those waves will drown the pier
but I live on the fourth floor,
take me with you.
there's a weeping willow in my dead neighbor's backyard
but it wept before anyone ever moved out
and I think it's still there alone
but I'm too afraid to check.
understand that no matter how much I try
I can never bend my wrist to the same angle as yours
we can never hold hands.
Understand that
it's my own fault I'm me.
waves,
please take me with you.
