Green With Envy

by Invisible Shadow   May 7, 2009

I have a short story to tell, of my life so far
Trust me you may think, it's all a little bizarre
I was born to a couple, named Yellow and Blue
I'm a dark shade of Green, I was a little overdue

The truth is I'm jealous; it's all because I'm Green
I'm jealous of Red and Violet, and all in between
Red, she was lucky to get a life of love and lust
While I was handed envy, my only quality that sucks.

Yellow, well, she's got to be the luckiest of all
She's got the sun on her side, and gold too.
Blue, he was fortunate, with the ocean so serene
I try to stay calm, but how can I when I'm Green?

There's Purple too, she's got the royals on her side
Cloaks and robes, jewels and magic, nothing denied
Oh, and Orange, she's flaming, let me tell you
She'd have to be by far, the most exciting H**.

Purple and her mystery
Orange and her sexuality
Yellow and her happiness
Red and her love

Grey and his maturity
White and her purity
Blue, his tranquility
Black, his stability

I've made the decision that I have nowhere to go
Nowhere to conceal so that my envy won't show
I can't cross over; in no other region can I hide
Because the grass is only greener on the other side
