Tip Of The Tongue

by Aubrey   May 8, 2009

I can feel the vibration of a word start to come out
But then my mouth closes when I want to shout
Screaming I love you inside my own mind
A bunch of secret love letters you will never find
I want to hold you close when I lay down at night
Feeling your arms around me making me feel so right
I can still feel the words spinning on my tongue
But why wonâ??t I open up and let the air out of my lungs
Am I too scared to state what I feel?
If it is true, then whatâ??s the big deal?
Maybe it needs to be perfect, no screw ups at all
That way it will sound great even after I fall
You already know my heart is yours
But I want to give you those three words to make you absolutely sure
That way you can smile every single day
To know that I love you in every single way
I can feel it on the roof of my mouth
If only I could let these strong feelings out

If only I could tell you exactly how I feel
Maybe then you would know, my love for you is real
If only I could let you see whatâ??s on my mind
Maybe the words wouldnâ??t be so hard to find
Maybe if I would quit making this so hard
Maybe then I would let down my guard
You are already mine, hand in hand
I already know where my feet would land
I already know that you would catch me if I stumbled
I think I am finally getting emotions out in a mumble

I love you isnâ??t so hard to say
Now that I say it every single day

Itâ??s not on the tip of my tongue anymore
I tell you it every day and show it even more
Tip of the tongue is no match for me
Now that he knows that we were meant to be
