Poem for the stressful mind

by Kaila   May 13, 2009

Black. Engulfs my eyelids into oblivian.
Searching for something other then this,
this story that's taken me hours to write.

The words linger on my tongue,
like the after taste of Mountain Dew.
Still I sit here stuck, without words.

Without a trace, of my pondering.
Vanished. Into the night it escapes,
escapes with hope of finishing this.

The clock glares from my computer,
each minute strikes me into frenzy.
A frenzy in which I can't find my way.

The way in which I'm searching,
is for the end of this story to arrive.
Arrive with a bang and a wow.

Now it is three in the dark morning.
The morning in which this paper is do.
So I do, what I do and simply write.

I liked this one a lot. The poem seemed to build and build on you as if it were a life or death situation and then it calms you with that very serene ending that left you feeling like everything's okay.

"Now it is three in the dark morning.
The morning in which this paper is do.
So I do, what I do and simply write."
-I feel like "dark" in the first line is a bit awkward though. It kind of disrupts the flow.

"The clock glares from my computer,
each minute strikes me into frenzy.
A frenzy in which I can't find my way."
-This was my favorite stanza just by itself. The last was my favorite because it made the poem so great but as a singular stanza, the above is the best. I can feel the tension brought on by that glaring, ticking clock as your nerves just build and build. It's really a great asset to this write.

I love the creativity in this, very original writing. Sorta choppy writing, flow could be fixed a little. But the portrayed image is great.
