The Heart

by Free Bird   May 13, 2009

A heart
Awakens
After years
Of sleep
Emerges
Without warning
No longer
Hidden
In the deep
The heart
Belongs
To a
Wise
Old soul
That has
Learned
The lesson
To just
Remain
In her
Lonely
Cold
Hole
Because
Here
Is where
This heart
Won't feel
Any Pain
It is
Here
THe heart
Thought
It would
Always Remain
A sudden
Force
Pulls the heart
From the hollows
Within moments
A young love
Follows
Disregarding
All
Previous lessons
The heart
Goes after
What it
Has
Always yearned
A warming
Touch
A loving grasp
A head
Over heels
Kind of
Romance
No caution
Has been taken
This heart
Hopes
It has not
Been mistaken
And leans in
For
An everlasting
Kiss
The heart
Can't take
Anymore
Of this
Doubt
And ask
The other
What he's
Really all
About
Unbeknowest
To the
Heart
Another Lie
Come
Slithering out
As time
Goes on
The heart
Keeps
Beating
A little
Harder
Everyday
That passes by
Leaves her
Stronger
Until
One day
He reveals
He will
Not be
Going on
With her
A stab
Right in
The middle
Slowly
Drives
The heart
Where she's
Destined to
Wither
A heart
Goes to sleep
For the last time
In a place
Where
Nothing
Can Touch her
