Should Be Today

by She Is My Rain   May 19, 2009

Tonight was that night.
I heard the longing in your voice
with a simple "Hello."
A strain of empathy without choice.

You looked at me then
as a lion looks to his prey.
And I could see
you hungry intentions.

You were a heart
ready to break,
and I was the part
you were willing to take.

Your vigorous haste.
"There's no time to waste."
Dainty, I crumbled,
bending to your will.
