For my Grandad xx

Life is full of difficult experiences
But none so difficult as losing a loved one
The vacant space it leaves in your heart
No matter what they say, you never fully recover

Time may pass, so may your grief
But that vacant space does not shrink
It is simply covered up with a smile
And the ignorance of your pain

Family or friend, it does not matter
Blinking back the tears each time they cross your mind
Can't breathe, can't think, can't hide from the truth
They are gone forever

There is a will, as if I care!
Useless possessions that can't bring them back
Remember how they made you laugh?
Oh how I want to laugh again

Picture in the corner, all that is left
That picture can't kiss or hug you
All it is is a reminder
Of what you have lost and will never have again

Memories should make you glad
That they were a part of your insignificant life
But the fact is that you had them
And they were so cruelly taken from you

So while I sit here with a tear down my cheek
Screaming 'why are you gone' in my head
I know tonight when I'm dreaming of you
You'll watch over me while I'm asleep in my bed

For my Grandad xxx
