A year at last

by Lynn Anderson   May 29, 2009

A year at last,
My one true love.
Did you ever think,
On the one eventful night?
We'd still be together.
Like love at first sight.
Did you know the moment.
We exchanged a kiss.
We would be here today.
With only each other to miss.
I've been so happy.
With you by my side.
Only making me happier.
To know your only mine.
With the days that follow.
Our memories will last.
A year ago already.
That we've put into our past.
Your touch brings me comfort.
I can see it in your eyes.
That you'll love me from here on.
And stay with me day and night.
You'll be my shoulder.
When I shed tears.
Only growing older.
We will have many years.
I once spent a year without you.
That year was the hardest in my life.
I spent many nights,
Calling out your name.
I knew I loved you always.
Then, one fateful night.
To me, you came.
To forgive me for the past.
That we have put behind us.
Only to make the years last.
That we have before us.
I've known every moment,
That I came to see you.
You were my one true love.
And I would never leave you.
Love me every moment.
With or without each other.
A year at last.
My one true love.
Be with me always.
Lets share our life to come.
