Childhood Forest Dreams

by NightFlyer   May 31, 2009

Summer reigns in the depths of my heart
As hope's budding seeds make their start
And the Summer wind flows with her soaring song
Of the robins and wrens as they guide me along
In the midst of this forestland where I walk
Past ancient fences and boundaries of rock
And old empty farms, broken by time
On a worn stony path, through the forest I climb
Now forever again, the timeless sun
As the wind takes me back where I begun
Back to this place of quaint, crystal streams
Reliving my childhood forest dreams.

Thank you, MaryAnne. I was inspired by a walk I recently took at a very nice nearby wildlife sanctuary.
