Change VS. Acceptance.

It's running through the waters like the drive through my veins
It's just out of reach like the track before the trains

The way you caught my eye,
& I simply looked away
How you pointed to one path,
& I turned the other way

I thought something went missing -
But it was never really there at all.
You hear, but are you listening?
Did you never learn to climb a wall?

Say you know me - better than anyone before.
But you're blind, you see, just adds one more.

It's blowing in the wind, can't you feel it in the air?
Got my restless heart pinned, on anywhere but there

Anyone who isn't giving honesty
To my heart, holds no key.
Thought you'd learnt by now, I take it no other way
I began to see not, but I held on anyway (accept it, change it)
Like the sand between your fingers:
Those grains you feel slipping away
& the empty feeling never lingers
longer than expected,
quicker than predicted

Once the flame burns out & the fog begins to lift
Realized you're just as blind as the rest
Hopes never die until they're shot down
& I always hoped you knew me best

It's called acceptance;
& I know it like the lyrics to a song
It's called change;
& to it you will never sing along.
