Explaining love to a flea

by Lindsay   Jun 2, 2009

This may seem hard, so try to stay still
The subject that I am about to breach is rather
Larger than you are.
Imagine, little bug, the tastiest spot of flesh
You have ever seen
And it wants you to bite it as much as you want to bite it
Imagine a cat
That does not dislodge you
A dog
That does not scratch
Do you comprehend? Maybe not.
It is a feeling that makes you want to jump ten times you height
But you already do that, don’t you?
Imagine leaping twice that height,
While staying on the ground.
A warm place living inside you
Even when there’s no warmth around you
Oh well,
Mr.flea
Maybe you will never understand
Now go off and get running,
As I am about to administer some flea medication
And if you don’t leave
You’ll die.
