I don't write poetry anymore.
The days are muggy
The nights are short
My pens are out of ink
My pencils are broken
I can't find the will to rhyme
Because he doesn't love me.

I don't write songs anymore.
The days drag on
The nights are restless
My piano is missing keys
My throat is scratchy
I can't find the will to sing
Because he doesn't love me.

Do I still write? you ask.
Write?
I don't write stories anymore.
The days seem hopeless
The nights are lonely
My hand is tired
My paper is soggy from tears
I can't find the will to write
Because he doesn't love me.
