Butterfly Fly Away

by brie kelly wise   Jun 11, 2009

There's a nervous bleeding in my pride
As I study this town with bloodshot eyes
I left, you left, who left first?
But really, we left with a stabbing thirst

The unsteady force of pain sets in
The paint dries and I don't cry
Stress comes with the radios playing
And then there's something I can't find
There's only exits when I walk the line
Hold on tight, don't you let go
We'll listen to them another day
Until then, butterfly fly away

Gravitational pulls bring me close to you
As I reach for this. Can you reach too?
You can't say what I can say
But really, we'll say what we want anyday

Beauty queens and cheating lovers
The loaded guns come in every shape and form
But this will never amount to what we owe
And there's something I can't find
There's only exits when I walk the line
Hold on tight, don't you let me go
We'll fight them when we see them another day
Until then, butterfly don't fly away
The paint dries but we won't cry
