Can't decide what its about

Another step that i get to take
Another beginning i get to make
My time was a waste
And all's i got was a taste

And it tasted so sweet
Nothing else could compete
But the sweetest things
Are too often unseen

So i took a good look
I wrote a new book
I learned to flip forward
And never turn back

After all the past is the past
And thats where it will belong
It wasnt gonna last
So come now kid it wont be long

So i took my next step
Lets see where it lead....
