Most frustrated

by dandelion   Jun 22, 2009

They say you are good,
You say you're not.
They say you got a talent,
You say it's not enough.
They say you can go places,
And for once you feel inspired.

You are young and capable.
You are strong and fast.
You have a big, big dream.
And you want to make it real.

You sing, you dance
You write, you paint
You jump, you run
You go, you fly
You reach for the star

You are happy and free
To chose your own fate.
Dancing with grace,
You battle against the wind.
Paint the sky with vivid hues
With greater verve than its pale blue
Up you go!
Joy overflows.

Halfway there,
You stumble, you fail.
You lose faith, you no longer believe.
Dance loses grace.
Song loses heart.
Poetry loses meaning.
You surrender the fight.
With the wind, you go.
Fate happens.

Years do no good.
You are now frail and weak.
Nothing you can do.
To live is to grow old.

You cant be a singer if you dont sing
Cant be a dancer if you dont dance
Cant be a writer if you dont write
Cant succeed if you dont try

You can no longer dance
Can no longer sing
Can no longer run
No, you can no longer reach

You had the dream
You had the time
You had the talent
You had the life

Now you are torn
One foot in grave
You look back to those days
Nothing you can do but wail

Your dream is a million miles away
Taken by the wind

You have let fate choose you
