Bendy-Straws Turned Straight

by eR   Jun 28, 2009

Holding on to a long lost cause, back to the days of bendy-straws
The innocence that wore thin
Like your favorite stuffed animal, soaked in gin

Oh underneath, underneath it all
Is someone you knew from before the fall
Looking from above, above the rest
Your point of view, always put to the test

Why was the question & they'll answered it to their discretion
Like an unheard shout left to hang in mid-air, to grab it and set it free
Would you, would you ever dare?

On the inside, inside
I know you could find what you pushed aside
Off the outside, outside
You're running away, cause there's nowhere to hide

Tell me what exactly was the reason
For this oh so subtle change in season
'Cause we're raised one way
Yet their words are contradicting all that they had to say!

Who told you to speak like that?

'Cause if you were me, you wouldn't listen to a word your saying

Who taught you to teach like that?

'Cause if you were me you wouldn't learn from a word your preaching

Who showed you to act like that?

'Cause if you were me you wouldn't do a thing you've done

Oh & honey its only just begun.

Holding on, to a long lost cause, back to the days of so few laws
The innocence that wore thin - why's everything now drowned in sin?

Oh underneath, underneath it all
Is someone you knew, from before the fall
Looking from above, above the rest
A narrow point of view, but you learn from the best .
