Perhaps, if i could, i would sing to you,
all my favourite songs. The songs that
speak of broken hearts, abuse and hate,
to hope and inspiration, healing and
love.

I would sing to you, each song full
of emotion and with their own
silent meaning. Each tone would
bring a silent message for
you.

I would sing to you, cadences and
harmonies weaving themselves
together, lyrics eluding into each
other, but somehow making perfect
sense.

I would sing to you, and you would
somehow understand, just know -
the mysteries of abstract-ism that
no one but you and i could ever really
understand.

I would sing to you, quavers and
semiquavers and demisemi-
quavers and even hemidemi-
semiquavers tied together with
ink.

I would sing to you, and in
the rests you would whisper
back to me: great secrets
no one else will ever
know.

for all your different moods. The
tones captivating your very soul.

I would sing to you, the right
words and tempo and timbre
to fit whatever you were feeling,
in attempt to make you slightly
better.

I would sing to you, and also to the
stars and to the moon, and into the
clouds and into the rain, along with
the wind and with the ever present
silence.

I would sing to you, into the skies,
and forever wish that you were
listening and watching the sky in
that exact moment, in that exact
time.

Songs unwritten, in stars unnamed,
