Accident

by kate   Jul 7, 2009

You wouldn't think it would happen to yourself.
You here from others that it happened to them.
The tears from their eyes.
Honestly, you have no idea what to say.

Then that one day the roles change.
Your sitting there reading the paper.
The good friends are on the front page.

The accident was horrible.
Their unique style and lovely faces weren't representable.
Everything was dismembered.
Blood and parts everywhere.

The speed was at least 100mph or over.
Everything was covered.
Only certain people were allowed at the scene.

You wouldn't think it would happen.
But again, it has happened to me.
It was the day of the funeral.
Sister and I went, everyone was crying.
These two girls were loved very much.

We got up to the casket.
Their picture was in front of it.
The tears started flowing from our eyes.
Why did the have to die?
Why did they want to speed?

Our lives changed for the worst.
Lost to great people in the world.
And why does God have to punish us?
Whats the lesson in this accident?
is there actually one?

Questions are asked.
Answers are lost.
Our friends, sisters, and daughters are gone.
March 31st was a accented that ended this.

in the memory of:
Courtney Alexander and Stephanie Heath

*not much of a poem but needed to get some stuff off my chest*

Was sorry for your losses. Maybe as somebody said this was not meant to be a poem or was it why can't it be a poem it is a part of this life and you have put it on our site. Yes there are a lot of mistakes which you should correct out of respect for you lost love ones. I don't agree with this:-

And why does God have to punish us?

In this life God does not punish us, he does not have to we are great at doing that ourselves, that is the wonder of him we are free to do as we please and we pay the consequences if we over step those guidelines we know we should not be exceeded. God is there to look over us and love us, the knowing he is there is our boon. No God does not punish us we do, yet we have a reckoning to face one day that is what this life is our proving ground. From the moment we are born we start to mark his sheet and at its end our total will be counted.

Try to sort out your mistakes and I think this will be an excellent poem worthy of the remembrance of those lost friends Ray S 5/5

I'm sorry. I would cry to. Life is a gift you need to hold on to.

I think this poem is very good. It is powerful and very emotional. It's something a lot of people can relate to. There is a lot of questioning of why they reached this fate, which I think gives the poem a hint of mystery. I think it is really good and it doesn't matter if it wasn't perfectly written because you wrote it for & about people.
