Silence They Plead

Silence is essential
silence is needed
when words become useless
silence is pleaded

the wise are silent
the fools are loud
it always brings down
those too proud

everyone's living
according to rules
made by none
made for fools

in a state of anarchy
we reigned Chaos king
and Silence is the jewel
that sits atop His ring

for no one is speaking
or uttering a word
because sentences are something
too much to afford

we bowed to corruption
denouncing integrity
nobody's faithful
but slaves to infidelity

yet the silence is never broken
we never stand our ground
even as injustice reigns
silence is the only sound

consciences can be bought
for a price too cheap
yet it seems to be enough
so at night they could sleep

try to control my anger
bitterness and hatred
I'm talking to the walls
for silence is sacred

everyone's paranoid
for mistrust is a slayer
sheltered in their lies
and the Devil's a player

you can't buy my silence
because you can't afford
to buy a single letter
out of any word

yet bonds are still broken
and still, when there's a need
words become useless
and silence they plead
