Dear Grandpa

by Julie   Jul 13, 2009

I can't bring myself to notice
we didn't say goodbye
I can't bring myself to believe
that all things eventually die
Is there a God in heaven?
Is he watching over you?
Is he making sure you watch your sugar,
like Grandma used to do?
Are you happy in Heaven, Grandpa?
Are you proud of me?
Can you see Grandma, Grandpa?
Can you see how much she loves you?
Can you see your children, do you know they miss you?
Grandpa is it lonely in Heaven, is the sky always white?
Is there night in Heaven, or is it always light?
Would I recognize you, Grandpa?
Would I know who you are?
Can you cry in Heaven,Grandpa?
Is that why it rains?
Can you see how much I miss you,Grandpa?
Can you see how much I care?
I wish I could have been there for you
to tell you not to be scared.
If you're ever looking down from Heaven, and you see me smile, know that I am happy because I got to be your grandchild.

Love Always,
Julie

Oh my goodness, that was so sweet and touching. it captured me right from the start, and I personally liked the fact that you kept saying "Grandpa" throughout your write. very heartfelt sweetie, great write!
