This Man

by Julie   Jul 13, 2009

He looked at me
and he told me
all the things he wanted to say
he broke me
now he holds me
I've always wanted it this way
he asks for my forgiveness
am I willing to pay
what a sap I am
letting him treat me
this way
his words they touch me
they run down deep
the little things he does
help me fall asleep
he'll hold me for now
but when tomorrow comes
I'll wake up with nothing
except the sun
foolish he has made me
bringing me to my knees
slowly taking away
the air I breathe
with the famous smirk
he gives me
oh I haven't got a prayer
no wonder I'm so in love
this man
this man that tricks me
into keeping him around
every day he hurts me
brings me to the ground
I love him
and I love him
and I let him takes some more
this man is the man
I allow my heart to adore
