I Had A Dream

I had a dream of you last night,
it took me by surprise.
You were standing right in front of me,
but wouldn't look me in the eyes.

I grabbed you by the hand,
and whispered in your ear,
but you just walked away
as if you couldn't hear.

I followed you all day and night
calling out your name,
but you ignored me and walked on by
as if you were hoping I'd do the same.

I watched you walk into your house
and shut the door behind,
I sat outside and wondered
what was going through your mind.

I wondered if you loved me,
I wondered if you cared,
I wondered if you forgot
everything we ever shared.

I woke this morning and realized
that my dream was never real,
and I thanked God this morning for you
and our love that is so real.
