Memory Lane

The sky parts
my hungry eyes
search for you
my nose
reaches for the
old rich scent of you
my legs seem to wobble
as i float for your shadow
lurking at every crossroad
stopping no where
for no one
but you
settling only for you
the sun falls
and the moon rises
and my drive is still
hell bent on you
turning no where
for no one
but you
the stars mock me
call me crazy
but I'd rather search
then listen to their shine
its starting to rain
and I'm drenched
being so close to you
i need no where
for no one
but you
so if that means i get sick
id rather stick it out
with a cold
then with out you
then i hear an angelic cry
presenting me with what you left
a broken spirit
a broken heart
a broken mind
asking me why i should find you
my past life
interfering with my now
so i slow my roll
stop floating on air
the rain appears to stop
and i sink below
and you were there all along
beneath me
loving the old me
trying to get the old me
and i begin to smile,
I'm glad we're no longer
in the present and future
but the past
